Laura Fernandez

Speaking in Virtual Events: Creating a Wildly Successful Donor Experience

Laura joined United Way in 2011, managing the travel, media, and hospitality sector as well as the Young Leaders society, within United Way’s development department. Her proudest accomplishment is restructuring the Young Leaders society and turning it into a fundraising component for United Way as well as launching LINC, United Way’s second young professional group and establishing a small business program. Currently she oversees a team of development officers and their portfolios, new business development, small business efforts, leadership givers and Giving Communities- Women United, Young Leaders and LINC. She enjoys working closely with her volunteers and colleagues to continue expanding the programming and fundraising and taking United Way to new heights.

Prior to United Way, Laura worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami as a program and events coordinator. She’s also a former Big Sister. In addition, Laura also has certifications from FIU’s The Leadership Essentials Program, Hubspot Inbound Marketing. Dale Carnegie and Harvard ManageMentor. She majored in public relations and English at the University of Florida.
