Kitty Dumas

Kitty Dumas is manager of the Ryder Charitable Foundation, the corporate giving arm of Ryder System, Inc., a leader in supply chain, dedicated transportation, and fleet management solutions. Kitty oversees the Foundation’s operations including developing and managing programs and initiatives that advance the company’s giving strategy in communities where Ryder employees live and work. That strategy includes support for disaster relief, community collaboration grants, as well as maximizing support for education, innovation, and research aimed at strengthening supply chains and increasing diversity in supply chain fields.

Before joining Ryder, she spent 15 years as a communications consultant for companies including Baptist Health South Florida, Ryder, and FIU’s Frost Art Museum. A writer and former journalist, her reporting and analysis has appeared in publications including the Miami Herald, The New York Times, Congressional Quarterly, Black Enterprise, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Washington Post. Her focus included public and social policy.

She serves on the board of Philanthropy Miami and The Ray, a Georgia-based national proving ground for innovative technologies with a goal of net-zero highways (zero death, zero waste, zero carbon, and zero impact).

A Mississippi native based in Miami, she holds a B.A. in journalism and English from the University of Mississippi.
